Aux Belles Choses brings to you "beautiful things" from the French and English countryside. In their trips to France and England the owners search for "belles choses" for the home and garden, both old and new, finding these treasures in the flea markets, brocante shops and small ateliers.

English Biscuit Barrel

The English call cookies "biscuits." So, this wooden biscuit barrel was used to store cookies. The interior has a porcelain lining and the word "biscuits" is spelled out on the front. It likely dates from the 1940s or 1950s. The height, not counting the handle, is 6 inches. The diameter at the bottom is 5 3/4 inches. We generally have a collection of biscuit barrels in the shop, so email us for photos and descriptions of others.
